Congratulations to the youth chorus for a fabulous performance at the Minus18 Same Sex Formal on Saturday 14 April!

For those who missed it, we sang a selection of songs including Teenage Dream (Katy Perry); You Gotta Be (Des’ree); Seasons of Love (Rent); Rolling in the Deep (Adele) and Unwritten (Natasha Beddingfield).

MGLC presents 2012′s first major concert: Bohemian Tapestry. We cover songs by singer song-writer Carole King and Supergroup Queen. From easygoing ballads to rocking anthems we celebrate two royal themed stars for a concert full of hits and memories.

Two shows on Saturday the 23rd of June, one at 3pm and one at 7.30 at the Clock Tower Centre in Moonee Ponds. Tickets are $25 general admission, Children under 15 tickets for $15.

Hi Youthies

…and welcome back to MGLC in 2012!! Just wanting to test out this fancy new website, and remind you that the first youth chorus rehearsal will be Wednesday 1 February at 6pm. new members welcome!!

For those who can support the chorus on Australia Day by singing with main chorus members at Mt Macedon, there’ll be a special rehearsal on Wednesday 25 January at 7.15pm - performance will be the next day.

The Melbourne Rainbow Band and Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus with the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Youth Chorus invite you to attend this year’s Carols by Queerlight, Saturday 10th December – 8.30pm – 10.30pm at Prahan Market.

This is our way of thanking the community, and has become a much loved part of Melbourne’s Christmas celebrations.

This year Carols is hosted by Danae Gibson and Luke Gallagher, and features a selection of well known Christmas Carols and a number of musical delights ranging from Broadway classics to Australian Christmas songs.

The event is proudly supported by The City of Stonnington, and will be broadcast on JOY 94.9 FM Radio

MGLC Concert shines!

Saturday the 15th of October saw the culmination of several months work by the MGLC to bring it’s celebration of classical music to St. Mark’s Church in Fitzroy.

The beautiful church was a wonderful setting and the acoustics made the songs sound fantastic. The Chorus thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing this music and feedback from audience members tells us that everyone attending enjoyed it too.

The Chorus joins with the Melbourne Rainbow Band to bring some Christmas cheer to the community. Held on 10 December at Prahran Market, it looks to be as much fun as it is every year. This event is free to the public.
