Our Chorus
The voices of a community
Singing in unison
The Chorus is an award winning choir with a passionate commitment to camaraderie through music. Over a 20 year history, our members have challenged stereotypes, stood as proud role models for those struggling with their sexuality or identity, and come from all backgrounds, ages and levels of ability. Our individual diversity is our collective strength. We strive for musical excellence and offer a supportive environment for enjoyable learning and performance and welcome all who share our vision and love of music.
Since its inception in 1990, the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus committed itself to supporting the GLBTIQ community of Melbourne. As such, the Chorus has performed at the Stonewall commemorative service each year for the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), World AIDS Day ceremonies and services for the People Living With AIDS (PLWHA), and the fundraising Australia Day Picnic for GLBTI radio station, JOY Melbourne (94.9 FM), to name a few. The Chorus will support not for profit organisations, by donating our services for a short performance, subject to previously arranged engagements.
